Fuel: Restrictions on the sale of High-Speed Diesel previously limited to 200 litres have been lifted, though rates remain increased.

WhatsApp: Users can now set a unique username in Settings-Account- Username, allowing them to share an identity without revealing their phone number. Instagram handles are not permitted for this.

Passport Fees: Charges have increased significantly. A 36-page passport is now Rs. 2,500 up from Rs. 1,500, and a 60-page passport is Rs. 3,500 up from Rs. 2,000. Tatkal services are now Rs. 5,000 for 36 pages and Rs. 6,000 for 60 pages.

Taxation: The deadline for filing ITR 1 and ITR 2 is July 31, 2026. Late fees are Rs. 1,000 for income up to Rs. 5 Lakh, and up to Rs. 5,000 for income above that.

Banking: HDFC Bank now requires a minimum spend of Rs. 60,000 in the previous quarter to qualify for free airport lounge access. SBI Card has implemented a cap on reward points for certain transactions.

Aadhaar: Users can update their registered email address free of cost for the next six months; otherwise, a fee of Rs. 75 applies.
