I was sanding driveways one day and my controller started flashing HP and the alarm started beeping. I turned my controller off and back on and everything was fine and from there it became intermittent. I pulled the spinner off and tightened the motor studs and the nuts that hold the wires on. The problem went away for about a cubic yard of material and then returned. Once again I pulled the spinner off and this time I checked all the connections at the module, I tightened all for studs which were definitely a little loose. This time the motor stopped working completely. After removing the wires from the motor I took a jumper pack to the studs on the motor and the motor wouldn’t turn. I removed the motor and opened it up to find that there definitely has been some moisture in there. Three of the four brushes were stuck, not moving freely. This way the brushes wear until they no longer make contact. The commutator where the brushes contact was also black/dirty. I cleaned everything up and reassembled the motor and it now works normally. (As of 12/13/24 3 years later I've never had another issue with it.)
I will update as I use it to let you know if the problem ever comes back. The replacement motor for this fleet-flex Tornado would be 99085 I believe.
