Sugarcane is a major crop in Pakistan. Whip smut of sugarcane caused by a fungus and was a minor disease but it has become very important problem especially in HSF 240 variety which needs to be solved. At this stage, it is very difficult to control fully. It is advised that affected plants should be removed and fertigation of 2 kg of copper sulphate (Cu SO4) be managed afterward. It was strongly suggested to replace old variety with new and resistant varieties like CPF 248, CPF 249, CPF 250, CPF 251, CPF 252 and CPF 253. Control of whip smut has a significant position in sugarcane production. Control of whip smut plays a vital role in Sugarcane production technology.
