Описание: In this episode we travel along New Mexico Highway 4 to visit The Soda Dam, Valles Caldera National Preserve and Jemez Falls.

🏞️The Soda Dam is essentially a hot springs deposit that is estimated to be around 7,000 years old. The dam is primarily composed of calcium carbonate and travertine, and extends more than 300 feet in length across the Jemez River Valley. It's an impressive 50 feet in height and 50 feet wide at the base.

🏞️ Valles Caldera National Preserve is a stunning volcanic landscape located in north-central New Mexico, near the Jemez Mountains. It's a relatively young preserve, having been established in 2000 when Congress purchased the Baca Ranch. The centerpiece of the preserve is the Valles Caldera, a massive volcanic crater that formed 1.25 million years ago during a colossal eruption that blanketed much of New Mexico with ash.

🏞️ Jemez Falls is the highest waterfall in the Jemez Mountains, with a height of 70 feet.
