It had been several years since Perry Keyes last headlined. Not surprisingly, his first show sold out within days. A second, earlier performance was announced and this too was a sell out. No one better captures the essence of growing up, disadvantaged on the streets of Sydney than Perry. Tragedy, humour, loss, happiness, nostalgia, love and so much more are all to be found within his vignettes of his hometown. Little wonder so many Sydneysiders hold Perry’s song writing skills in such high esteem, eight examples of which are captured here:

I attended the late show. The Camelot Lounge was packed and I had to make do with a position further back than normal. Thankfully, the audience was there to listen and there was no where near as much chatter as is sometimes the case. It was a wonderful night of excellent songs. I’m now hoping that a new album isn’t too far away.
