Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has contacted the Pakistan Cricket Board after Aleem Dar stepped down from the national selection committee, according to sources.
Afridi reportedly requested PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to appoint him as the new chief selector and proposed including former star Younis Khan as a selector alongside him.
However, sources say the PCB informed Afridi that former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and ex-head coach Misbah-ul-Haq have already been added to the selection committee.
Reports suggest Afridi is unhappy with the decision and has started criticizing the board’s policies and recent decisions.
