Trams are cooled. Shopping centres are cooled. So why not the tram stop—where you actually wait?
Thermal Comfort in Dense Cities is a forward-looking project envisioning Melbourne in 2030: a city where advanced, sustainable technologies integrate seamlessly into its iconic tram stops. The redesign brings shade, cooling, and character back to Bourke Street through solar-powered misting fans, photovoltaic canopies, and vibrant greenery.
Built on renewable energy and modular design, this concept refreshes the city’s pulse—cooling, colourful, and connected.
Aligned with the Melbourne 2050 Vision, it redefines public comfort and celebrates a greener, more human-centred future for urban life.
Your city, Melbourne City, reimagined—with a breath of fresh air and a new icon of comfort.
