Dr. Tim Dooley of the Bureau’s Applied Geodynamics Laboratory (AGL) slices up a physical model containing two salt walls grown by differential loading in this time-lapse video.
Viewers can see the two salt walls appear in the exposed sections and then disappear again as the model is cut through to the other side. The model runtime was ten days in total, and some 120 sections were cut through the area of interest in the video. The model is inverted before placing on this slicing rig.
