Gahavar Van, in its original form, is a dense forest situated at Barsana, and it has many Nikunj (Bowers) that witness beautiful and sweet Madhurya Rasa pastimes of Srimati Radha Rani and Sri Krishna.
One reaches this place while doing Barsana parikrama (circumambulation of Barsana).
In Gahavar Van, one can have beautiful Nikunj leela (pastime) darshan where Radha and Krishna are doing shringar (makeup) of each other.
Ramesh Baba ji Maharaj’s Ras Mandap, Ramesh Baba ji Maharaj’s gaushala, Radha Sarovar, Dohini Kund are quiet near to Gahavar Van. Maan Mandir, Mor Kuti, Sankri Khor, and Chiksauli village (Chitra Sakhi’s village) are also nearby.
The Narrator, Radha Dasi, narrates a beautiful story (pastime) related to this place involving Krishna, and sakhas (cowherd friends of Krishna), and a gopi.
It is considered by Vaishnava devotees as one of the important places to see in Barsana area of Braj Mandal.
