Описание:
The trigone is the triangular inner wall (Of the base) of the urinary bladder between the 2 openings of the ureters and the urethra.
Unlike the remainder of the urinary bladder wall which is coarsely trabeculated by criss-cross muscle fibers, the mucosa in this area is smooth due to the attachment of the muscular coat.
The three angles of the trigone are the two ureteric orifices superolaterally and the internal urethra orifice inferiorly.
The trigone does not distend as the bladder fills
It has its apex directed downwards and forwards
Has its base formed by the interureteric ridge or bar of mercier
