'I've made a commentary on this dive, but there is more to write. For the first time, we have seen the devastating effect that poaching can have on a reef.
These men in the first frame had a spear gun. Use of spear guns is illegal in Mauritius. Not only is it dangerous, it is cruel.
As we were diving, we saw traumatized and wounded moray eels. These normally pop their heads out to see us. Today they were frozen with fear. I have made a short video of the poachers. They are wearing scuba gear so we don't recognize them. But we all know who they are.
