Centropyge acanthops, also known as the flameback angel, exhibits a vibrant purplish-blue body colour with golden orange overtones on its head, upper sides, dorsal, and caudal fins. It can grow up to 8cm in length.
Centropyge Angelfish should be added to well-established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work, caves, cracks and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Centropyge Angelfish may pick at mobile and sessile invertebrates. A diet of marine meaty, angelfish and algae-based foods should be offered multiple times daily. Care will need to be taken when handling Angelfish, as they have cheek spines. Avoid using nets when handling. Centropyge Angelfish are hermaphroditic, meaning they may have both sex organs at some point in their lives. May be territorial towards other Angelfish with the same shape; however, if added to a large enough aquarium and at the same time, a Dwarf Angelfish may live harmoniously.
