Venue: Osaka Umeda Station, 1st Floor – Central Concourse / Big Man Plaza

Event Details:
Free distribution of fukuzasa (lucky bamboo branches) by Fukumusume (festival maidens) from Ebisu shrines along the Hankyu Railway lines
Introductions of each participating shrine
Prayers for business prosperity and good fortune using fukuzuzu (lucky bells)

Toka Ebisu is a traditional Japanese festival held every year around January 10 and dedicated to Ebisu, the deity of prosperity, business success, and good fortune.
It is especially popular among merchants, shop owners, and businesspeople, who visit Ebisu shrines to pray for a prosperous year ahead.

During the festival, visitors receive fukuzasa—lucky bamboo branches decorated with auspicious charms such as coins, rice bales, and red sea bream (tai).
These decorations symbolize wealth, abundance, and success in business. The bamboo’s ability to grow straight and strong also represents steady growth and good luck.

A highlight of Toka Ebisu is the presence of Fukumusume (festival maidens), who bestow the fukuzasa and offer warm greetings to worshippers.
Shrines are filled with lively crowds, cheerful chants, and ringing bells, creating a festive atmosphere that marks the beginning of the new year’s hopes for prosperity and happiness.
