Exactly 4 years ago today, May 22, 2021, I almost died from septic shock. What is sepsis? What was it like to suffer septic shock, what were my symptoms? What led up to the crisis? I have multiple disabilities and chronic conditions, this first video describes what those conditions are, and what led up to my septic shock crisis, and what doctors did to save my life. Having chronic conditions for most of my life, I've never been a "textbook" case of anything, and it took years to get a diagnosis in most cases. Luckily for me, I'm still here to type this, exactly 4 years later, and tell you the story of how the one time I was a "textbook" case for a life-threatening crisis like sepsis, was the time I needed it the most.
