Silent Hill 2 Remake (2024) Any% NG/NG+ Speedrun Tutorial (PC/Console)

This is a pretty comprehensive tutorial that covers the fundamentals of the "breakout tech" and all of the most major implementations/applications for that tech. This goes into detail on how to perform just about all the glitches you need to do the Any% speedrun. I mention it a few times in the video, but there's quite a bit that I don't cover in-depth in the tutorial in the assumption you at least are coming into this with some idea of how to play the game.

FAQ:
1) Does everything work for console? Current patch? Controller?
Yes! As of the time of upload, everything still works on both PC and console, all versions of the game, controller or mouse and keyboard.
2) Something isn't working for me, is it a hardware issues?
As far as we know, hardware affects how the skips are performed and even in extreme circumstances (ie: very slow hard drive) should still be possible, though you may need to do some extra pause buffering.
3) I can't get this skip the way you showed.
There's a lot of different ways to perform each skip, and if my method isn't working for you I'd recommend checking out the speedrun.com leaderboard for how the other runners are doing those skips, or come into one of our streams to ask!
4) I don't want to skip the plank in NG+ so I can do melee-dashing, how?
I didn't cover this in the video, but it's actually very easy, do the breakout with the chainsaw in the beginning except instead of going Left and Forward, go straight Forward. You'll end up in the room with the plank and radio.
