Took delivery today of two Nicom NT500 FM transmitters, along with the antennas and power dividers for the upcoming installation and startup of two FM translators (W2612DZ and W222CT) which are FM translators for existing AM stations. These are slated to be installed and on the air by June 20, 2021.
The frequency and some of the RDS (actually RBDS since they will be U.S. stations) don't totally match up yet, as the RDS programming is not yet finalized, and the transmitters are being switched around using just one of the Barix Exstreamer and Inovonics Novia 272 stereo gen/processor/RDS encoder setups with a stream from one of the two AM station. This is all just for testing purposes at the moment, with the transmitters operating on a dummy load here in the lab.
Everything seems to be operating well so far. The two reels of 7/8" feedline, antenna pipe mounts, connectors, grounding kits, and other remaining items for the installation are slated to arrive tomorrow. Lots of work left to be done to get these installed and on the air, but we're pounding away at it. There's a great team behind all of this, so we'll make it happen and we're excited about them being on the air soon.
