Fekat circus is one of the few independent creative/cultural spaces in the heart of Addis. It cultivates a new generation of creative minds and spreads positive emotions. It is a recr-educational team involving children of all backgrounds into the circus world. It is a circus troupe searching and staging artistic performances in Ethiopia and abroad. It is the organiser of the African Circus Arts Festival, capacity building, networking and exchange programmes for young circus performers and organisations, with the aim of developing the circus sector within Ethiopia and the African continent.

I had a fantastic time. Fekat Circus is is close to the Piassa’s buzz but located off a quiet cobblestoned alley and a sanctuary. The circus and its lovely people are what makes it really special—seeing the kids train (and even joining in) is a joy! Room and bathroom are basic…Read more

What a unique place to stay in Addis! The hosts are all very nice, went out of their way to help me get around. The room is comfortable and cozy and clean. Watching the children practicing their circus craft was a treat. Definitely recommend!

Fekat Circus is a great base to explore Addis Ababa. The circus performers helped me sort out my Ethiopian mobile phone and gave good restaurant recommendations. This is an oasis in a chaotic city. Be ready to wake up early, though!
