Wilf describes why he likes programming and coding and looks at Margaret Hamilton, a lead NASA programmer whose software was used on the Apollo missions including Apollo 11 and the moon landings. Wilf describes how running a simulation helped her to identify a possible catastrophic error in the software and fix it so that the very limited processing power on the shuttle's computer could concentrate on the life-critical tasks.
Wilf made this video for the Global Science Show special for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
