• Nirmala Rajasingam -legal and human rights activist, South Asia Solidarity Group
• Mahvish Ahmad co-founder of Pakistani left feminist magazine Tanqeed, anti-war organiser & member of the Awami Workers Party.
• Ko Aung - key human rights activist and organiser, political prisoner during Burma's former military dictatorship, teaches International Protection of Human Rights at LSBU
The meeting reflected on questions that included
• How would the relationship between the two nuclear armed powers, India and Pakistan, be affected by the Trump Presidency?
• How is the Modi government's Hindutva brand of ultra-nationalism and communalism impacting on the South Asian region?
• How will the people of Kashmir, in the aftermath of the horrific summer of 2016, be affected by the changing geopolitics of the region?
• What would America's growing belligerence towards China and cosy relationship with Hindutva fascism mean for South Asia?
• To what extent are Sinhala Buddhist nationalism and Tamil nationalism in Sri Lanka affected by Hindutva and the dominance of Indian corporate interests in the region?
• What are the political forces behind the slow burning genocide of Myanmar’s Rohingya
