Are you ready for take off….  

This weekend we experienced The Greatest Texas Air Show. I have to say this was one of the coolest events we have experienced. The event was hosted at the Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph. For starters the event is FREE. Our plan was to get there early but of course, the packing for an all day trip with 2 little ones is never easy. We arrived around 9:45am and since we wanted to soak in every moment the adventure started with an hour and a half very slow line to enter the base. Once in and parked we got everything situated in the stroller to find out we had to take a shuttle to the actual event location. Kari loved the bus drive and was so excited looking out the window. We made it!  To greet us at the main entrance was gigantic walk through plain which was pretty amazing to actually be inside of. There were so many planes you could look at, sit in, and take many pictures with. There was a “Kid Zone” with bounce houses and other activities for kids to play. Kari was too small so we didn’t go but it looked like tons of fun. Then there were food vendors selling, pizza, hotdogs, nachos, burgers, chicken tenders, gyros, wings, funnel cakes and I’m sure many other options I may have missed. Now the fun began, the airshow began about 1pm. There were tons of acts. We headed out around 4pm and there were still shows going on and many people coming in. The event was an absolute SUCCESS! Both kids enjoyed the show and looking at all the different planes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND especially if you have little ones who are fascinante with planes.
