Описание: Pacific Western Airlines 314 was a 737-2OO flight from Fort McMurray to Castlegar on Feb 11, 1978. The flight also had 3 stop overs at Edmonton, Calgary and Cranbrook airports. The flight was on the leg between Calgary and Cranbrook with 44 passengers and 5 crew, The flight was on approach, but failed to radio in that they were about to land, at the time, Cranbrook had no ATC tower. The flight touched down 10 minutes earlier than scheduled, but the pilots soon saw a snow blower on the runway and threw the plane's thrust to full so hard the captain broke his thumb. Because the thrust was applied so fast, the reverse buckets on the left engine failed to close fully, this mean a few seconds after lifting off, the buckets closed again and the plane plunged into the ground. Initially, 7 people survived, but one passenger died of their injuries 11 days later, leaving 5 passengers and 1 flight attendant alive, leaving the other 43 onboard dead.
