While in Komodo National Park, Indonesia we dove several sites that are typically frequented by manta rays. Some were shallower with mantas cruising right up on the reef and some sites were deeper along canyon walls. Bonus for seeing several Ninja Mantas!! Our guides called the black mantas “ninjas”. The all black mantas are melanistic which occurs when there is an increase in darker pigments in an animals skin.
