A unique opportunity to shift the power dynamic between venture capitalists (VCs) and tech founders. Four investors pitched their ideas to a room full of fundraising founders, giving them the chance to explore who aligns best with their vision. The panel also included experienced founders who have successfully raised capital and to give their insight into how venture capital can fuel growth.

The VC Investor Panel Included:

Mike Clarke – Partner at YFM, a tech investor with a 40-year track record in Yorkshire, providing £2m to £6m Series A investments.
Dan Smith - Head of Yorkshire at LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, typically investing £5m+.
Andy Naylor, Investment Director at Northern Gritstone, dedicated to supporting science and IP-rich businesses in the north, many originating from the Universities of Leeds, Manchester, and Sheffield.
Elli Bilous – representing NorthInvest's group of angel investors, providing seed capital to digital start-up's in the region.

Tech founders Included:

Adam Hildreth, Founder and CEO of Crisp Thinking, a real-time risk intelligence company that raised $25m from Baird Capital in 2018, before being acquired by Kroll in May '22.

Zandra Moore, Co-Founder and CEO of Panintelligence, a high-growth data visualization and analytics software developer that raised £4.5m from YFM and Comhar Capital in 2020.

Mitali Mookerjee, Founder and CEO of CastRooms, a platform for social streaming of live music. Mitali secured a pre-seed round of £175K from Angels and FFFs in 2022 and previously secured over £2m in 2019 from social investors, Leeds City Council, and ERDF. Mitali also serves as a co-chair at MAP Charity.
