Fonte da Telha is a large beach on the Portuguese coast , on the Setúbal , shared between the municipalities of Almada and Sesimbra.

There is an important fishing community from the south of Charneca de Caparica , which settled there at the end of the 19th century.

In addition to the fishing activity, Fonte da Telha is a summer resort, where there are nine guarded beaches, restaurants, bars, schools for nautical activities, and a diving center. It is the southern terminus of the Caparica mini -train . At one end of the beach, naturism is practiced, on Adiça beach , near Lagoa de Albufeira ..

Due to its isolation, it initially attracted naturists, but today it is a popular destination for all types of people, from families with children to groups of young people.

Most are concentrated in the central part, close to parking lots, the bus stop and restaurants , where there are thatch and sun loungers for rent. Naturists choose the area further north, walking for about ten minutes along the extensive beach, or go to Praia da Adiça , an official naturist beach, located at the southern end of the village.

Fonte da Telha beach is usually full in the months of July and August.
The sea is relatively calm during the summer at Fonte da Telha.
Far from the bars, to the north and south, Fonte da Telha beach is frequented by naturists.
Walking north, you find an almost deserted coast.

The beach center has bars and restaurants with thatched and sun loungers

Although not exactly a very common destination for surfing, it was here that Portuguese surfer Tiago Pires (also known as “Saca”) broke the world record for the largest surfing class in the world, in 2018, with 327 students.

Praia da Fonte da Telha Beach has an extensive sand, from which you can see the imposing fossil cliff, an area of landscape protected by its natural wealth.
With a wide range of bars and restaurants along the entire beach, parking and surveillance, Fonte da Telha is very popular with the inhabitants of the Municipalities of Almada and Lisbon.
