Описание: Nicolas Besombes is an associate Professor of Sociology of Sport at the University of Paris, France. Since his PhD Thesis, Nico's research is focused on the sporting dimension of esports (physicality, governance, institutionalization, health, diversity, etc.). In parallel, he also is the Vice President of the French National Esports Association called France Esports (https://www.france-esports.org/), the co-founder of the French Speaking Association for Esports Research and Studies called AREFE (https://arefesport.fr/), one of the board member of the Esports Research Network, and an advisor of the Global Association for International Sports Federation (https://gaisf.sport/).

We talk about the objective of the sociology of sport, the specificity of the French esports ecosystem, the role of the publishers in the governance of the sector, and the way to develop esports locally in a globalized industry.
