The Spurn Peninsular was longer in lenght than expected. Added to the tide wash over restrictions, we had to take account of how long we took walking the length of the peninsular. Although we made it to the light house, we didn't risk extending out to the Spurn Point itself, only as far as the pier (pilot boats jetty). The lighthouse itself unfortunately was closed. But the experience of being almost surrounded on either side by open seas was quite something. This longshore drift creating a spit, is between the North Sea and the River Humber.
There is chargeable parking, also a nice cafe and guide tours by the Spurn safari ex-military 4 x 4 for those who prefer to ride rather than walk.
