What if a single moment of curiosity could change the course of a life?
In this powerful talk, Adhirath Sethi shares two remarkable stories — Albert Einstein’s childhood fascination with a compass and Monica’s life-changing experience during a simple blood test demonstration in rural India. These “pinprick moments,” as he calls them, are tiny sparks that reshape how we see ourselves and what we believe we are capable of.
Drawing from the 25-year journey of the Agastya Foundation, one of the world’s largest creativity movements for underserved children, he explores how curiosity, hands-on learning, and joyful discovery can transform education at scale.
From mobile science labs to millions of young learners across India, this talk reminds us that education isn’t about memorizing answers — it’s about asking better questions.
Because sometimes, a small spark can raise an ocean. Adhirath Sethi is an industrialist, author, and trustee of the Agastya Foundation, one of the world’s largest education movements for underserved children. A former management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, he ventured into entrepreneurship in 2008—just as the global financial crisis struck—turning to writing as a creative anchor during challenging times. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
