Ever gone down the PMDD rabbit hole at 2 a.m.? Been there.
I spent years trying every bandaid and hack I could get my hands on.
So let’s rate some of the things I tried before I actually healed my PMDD:
✨ Random supplements — 3/10
Was overwhelming cost a lot of $$ and gave me false hope & sometimes worsened my symptoms.
✨ “Just take birth control” — 2/10
Wrecked my libido, worsened my symptoms, and made me feel like a zombie (I know this treatment helps SO MANY women but it personally worsened my symptoms and led me to rock bottom.
✨ Cutting out gluten, dairy, animal protein, joy, and my will to live — 1/10
Did I mention I was hungry, miserable, and still symptomatic?
✨ Reddit threads at 2 a.m. — 4/10
Weirdly comforting but mostly depressing chaos.
✨ Talk Therapy alone — 6/10
Helpful, but didn’t touch the root cause: genetic factors, my hormones & sensitivity, & nervous system dysregulation.
✨ Learning how to track and understand my cycle, supporting my hormones, learning my patterns, accessing specialized testing, & working with someone who gets it — 10/10
Life. Changing.
The truth is, PMDD isn’t just something you throw random solutions at and hope for the best.
It needs a real plan, rooted in education, testing, support, and your body’s actual needs.
