I headed to Beeston Castle in plenty time to wait for 71000 Duke of Gloucester to pass with 'The Impossible Dream' railtour ( a private tour for the BR class 8 members.)
Unfortunately news eventually came through that the tour had been delayed, due to cattle on the line and being hit by a train the other side of Chester.
After numerous rumours of new times/ routes, I decided to head towards Crewe. Luckily getting there in time to catch The Duke putting on a fine show passing Sunnybank Lane.
Class 57, 57003 was on the rear. 8th October 2025
