Among the most enduring of hymnals is the 1936 edition, commonly referred to as “The Blue Hymnal,” which many Alliance churches used well into the 1970s.

However, with the rising use of audio-visual technology in most Alliance churches, the hymnal has nearly disappeared, seemingly taking Simpson's hymns along with it. The BLUE HYMNAL SIMPSON series represents an effort to faithfully place Simpson’s lyrics into the “new tunes” of our day, allowing the heart and passion of Simpson to be expressed through music once again.
