Behind the video: I'm so sorry to all my fellow Lucy/Wyatt shippers but I can't stand them anymore. They were cute enough in S1, got me to lowkey ship them, but then S2 came along. Them getting together was rushed at best; the following drama with Wyatt's ex suddenly coming back was incredibly contrived; the way Wyatt handled the situation was crappy for both Jessica and Lucy. Halfway through S2, I had lost all interest in Lucy/Wyatt and was fuming that the relationship drama was taking so much of the focus away from the dynamic of the main trio. I also didn't want Lucy to go back to Wyatt because she deserved much better.
Her relationship with Flynn, on the other hand, had been building up since S1 and I found myself caring more and more as they got closer in S2. I found that Lucy connected with Flynn on a much deeper level than she did with Wyatt. It's kinda like puppy love versus actual intimacy.
I don't think Flynn is exempt of all blame for his actions at the beginning but I think there's something to be said about him being put in an impossible situation, in exceptional circumstances and driven to do horrible things out of pain and desperation. I believe deep down he's a good man, if you remove him from that awful situation. I think it's one of those rare cases where it's done right.
The movie didn't do him justice if you ask me. It threw many things under the bus (Lucy's integrity / her bond with Flynn / Flynn's place within the team...) just to rush to an ending that felt like fan service for Lyatt and Riya shippers. In fact, the whole movie felt like a giant fanfiction and I couldn't bring myself to take it seriously.
This video is a sort of character study of Lucy, what she went through and how she connected with Flynn through shared trauma and pain.
