Giga Impact is notoriously known as a very bad move in competitive Pokémon. It is a strong move for sure, but the drawback of not being able to do anything next turn is just not worth it causing many players to avoid the move and moves very similar to it like Hyper Beam. However in Generation 7 competitive singles, Kartana actually uses Giga Impact very frequently and to great success as well, despite the move being very bad. So why does Kartana use Giga Impact?
