(17 Mar 2017) French Minister of Housing Emmanuelle Cosse visited the migrant camp in Grande-Synthe on Friday, after French Interior Minister Bruno Leroux said it must be dismantled as quickly as possible.
But Damien Carême, the Mayor of Grande-Synthe, is against the dismantling of the camp.
Cosse said it was important to shelter migrants in humane conditions, but one migrant said he was not willing to ask asylum in France and would return to Afghanistan.
