Introduction Bike Touring Slovenia

Описание: There are many superlatives to describe cycling in Slovenia, and I have to agree with them all!
Best for cycling and nature has to be high up there. But, Wow, what a country with alpine roads and the most accessible variety of terrain.
In the heart of Europe, where alpine peaks touch the sky and emerald lakes reflect their glory, lies a cycling journey like no other.
From the jewel of Lake Bled to the shimmering Adriatic coast at Piran, Slovenia offers a ride that is both epic in scale and intimate in beauty.

As usual I will try to focus on the terrain and surfaces we encounter, whilst we traverse Slovenia on our fantastic 8 day ride.

Second… will show off Lake Bled and the Sava valley to the Kranjska Gora ski resort.
Then third shows the epic climb over the Julian Alps via the Vrsic Pass to Bo-vec.
The fourth takes us down the wonderful Soca Valley into the Slovenian wine region
And finally, Part 5 sees us winding our way down to the Adriatic coast stopping at Trieste and final stop Piran.
Over the 8 days we cycled 320 km and covered 4,300 m of elevation, quite a challenge, especially for 2 of our group who have done very little cycling, thank goodness for eBikes.
We hired Scott hardtail mountain bikes from Slovenia Cycling Holidays, who also organised our accommodation and luggage transfer. They were very efficient and helpful, as usual I’ll leave their link in the description.
