Oster 7 Speed Fusion Blender Drive Pin Replacement*

Описание: I replaced an Oster blender drive pin successfully. I purchased a new Oster blender drive pin connector and a new Oster blender Drive Pin & Splay Plate & Washer Package. The new drive pin, splay plate kit included a washer that was missing on the original blender assembly. My noisy blender was quieter after installing the new parts. The original blender blade drive socket was not significantly worn & I did not needed to replace the blade assembly. The fit between the original blade drive socket and new drive pin should be examined after buying a new drive pin.

Even the professional Oster appliance service center people will tell you that, typically the act of removing the Oster blender metal drive pin, damages the splay plate & the plastic connector installed on the blender at the time, & both the connector & the splay plate need to be replaced, so just buying a replacement drive pin can be a mistake. I found that the washer included in the Drive Pin & Splay Plate Package seemed to make a difference in how much running noise the blender made.

The Oster blender Drive Pin & Splay Plate, Washer Package product is great, but you also typically need to purchase an additional Oster blender drive pin connector.

Removing the original drive pin can be tricky.

It took me several attempts before devising a successful mode of operation that did not unnecessarily damage the blender.

I snapped the plastic drive pin connector using a wrench and turning the blender motor on, but at the time the connector was hot from another operation, and I could not seem to snap the connector cold and did not want to unduly stress the blender motor. After snapping the connector and removing the drive pin and splay plate from the blender, I still had to remove portions of the connector from the blender motor drive shaft.

Taking the blender in for service likely only approaches cost effectiveness if it is dropped off at a local authorized Oster local service center & picked up there, as the parts & repair charge & postage both ways is likely to be pricey for having the blender fixed at a service center by shipping the blender there, else the choice is DIY, or buy another blender.

To get the most out of your blender be careful when mounting the bladed pitcher on the blender drive pin. Make sure that the blade drive socket is seated properly over the drive pin before turning on the blender. Your blender drive pin is likely to provide longer service if you chop things up smallish before putting them in the blender and blending them.
