This is the most important evaluation factor to help choose how to best handle your case. Your lawyer needs to hear your story, starting from the begining. What happened? How did your night start? How did an arrest impact you? Tell your lawyer what your life is like, family, travel work. They need to know how to communicate your story and understand what is important to you.

Goals

What do you want out of your case? Some people want to rely on their attorney's advice, while others have goals of winning at trial, at saving their license or of avoiding jail time. Your lawyer needs to know your goals so they can discuss how to put you in the best position to achieve your goals and whether they are realistic or not.

Expectations

What are your expectations of your lawyer? Do you want to be called once a week or just when something new progresses. Is a lawyer someone that advises you, builds your defense and represents you in court or do want someone that fights with everyone they see? Do you want your lawyers advice or have you already made up your mind on how you want to handle your case?

An evaluation is a good opportunity to make sure you and your lawyer are a match. Although, I will do my best to reach your goals and adjust to your expectations, I cannot change who I am or how I handle DUI cases. You need a good relationship with a lawyer, if it appears we are not good match then just like dating you are better off with someone else.
