The injured include three security guards and a student tenant, all of whom sustained minor injuries and were treated and transported for medical care.
EMS' Robert Mulaudzi says the building is used as student accommodation, raising concerns that more occupants could have been inside at the time of the collapse. Emergency teams are currently clearing rubble to establish whether anyone may still be trapped.
Authorities are also investigating the cause of the incident, including whether the building had any gas installations that could have contributed to the explosion and subsequent collapse.
Emergency services remain at the scene, as structural safety assessments continue and investigations get underway.
