Before kick-off, I caught up with Coventry United media manager Liam, who shared his ambitions for the season (play-offs the goal!) and spoke about his journey with the club so far.

⚽ On the pitch, it was a competitive and end-to-end clash with both teams looking sharp but wasteful in front of goal — 0-0 at half-time. The breakthrough finally came on 70 minutes when a stunning 30-yard free-kick flew into the net and gave Aylestone Park the lead!

Despite late pressure, Aylestone Park held firm and left with a huge 1-0 win to start the season.
