I've recently installed a set of Bare Knuckle Apache pickups in my American Standard Strat. I thought I'd do a brief demo of some of the sounds you can get. The first bluesy shuffle thing, was played with my Xotic EP Booster turned on.
I went for the reverse wound/polarity middle pickup, to reduce hum in positions 2 and 4. I also had the optional metal base plate installed on the bridge pickup, to increase the output a bit. This is a similar idea to how telecaster pickups are built.
The guitar is also fitted with a WD single ply black pick guard and the wiring is a pre wired, solder less system.
Recorded with a Rode NT1 and SM57 into an Apogee Duet 2 with Logic.
