Описание: ABOUT THIS EPISODE: Richmond Virginia's go-to destination for creative reuse is SCRAP RVA. They pack a lot of fun - in the form of all kinds of donated arts and crafts supplies - into their intimate store in the city's Brookland Park neighborhood. Using the space they have to make a huge mark on local artists, crafters, makers, teachers, students and more. Each month, they're collecting over a ton of materials that might have otherwise gone unused or wasted in the local landfill.

Customers of SCRAP RVA like to say you never know exactly what you might find but you know your going to find all kinds of great things to inspire your creativity. Things like paper, paint, textiles, thread, office supplies, markers, crayons, frames and all kinds of other odds and ends fill just about every available space.

This episode is packed with all kinds of great insight about what people get from this amazing place. Local artist Susan Singer shows us some of the awesome paper journals she's made from supplies she got at SCRAP RVA. Local painter Cristen Palmour shows us some of her recent work while explaining how SCRAP RVA has expanded her own artistic repertoire. We also talk with the some of the leadership of the organization including Site Manager, Amy Turner and Advisory Board members Mary Pearce and Kim Chiarchiaro about their mission and where SCRAP RVA is headed in the future.
