Let’s bake something cozy to celebrate the holiday season!
I really love pastry, and this time I wanted to make something a bit different: Spinach Cream Cheese Roll 🥐🌿
It’s savory, slightly tangy, and maybe a bit healthier… because, well, there’s spinach in it 😆 hohoho.
Here’s the recipe (12–13 pcs):
🌿 Spinach (2 bunches)
🥄 Garlic cream cheese (3–4 tbsp, adjust to the amount of spinach)
🧂 Salt
🧂 Pepper powder
🥐 Mini puff pastry (3–4 sheets)
🥚 Egg yolk (2)
🧈 Margarine (1 tsp, melted)
🥚 Egg white (1)
🧀 Shredded cheddar cheese (as needed)
Steps:
1️⃣ Sauté the spinach, then season with salt and pepper
2️⃣ Once it reaches room temperature, mix the spinach with cream cheese. Adjust the seasoning if it tastes bland
3️⃣ Spread the mixture evenly onto the puff pastry
4️⃣ Roll it up tightly
5️⃣ Brush the edge of the pastry with egg white and press gently to seal
6️⃣ Cut into about 3 cm pieces
7️⃣ Brush the top with egg yolk and sprinkle with shredded cheddar
8️⃣ Bake at 200°C for 30 minutes

I usually make cheese twists, cheese sticks, or chocolate sticks, but this one feels like another level.
And personally—because I’m Indonesian—eating this savory pastry with chili sauce makes it even better 🌶️😆
