The Feast of the Presentation of Christ commemorates the event in the which His earthly parents presented him 40 days after His birth into the temple in accordance with the Jewish Law. This event is so significant because it marks the first time in history that God Incarnate comes to meet His people in His Temple. And at the same time, the event also reveals, through the Canticle of Simeon, that the Messiah's mission was to be the light of salvation for the whole world.
