Defendant Aljo Agiri asks for deferred adjudication on a state-jail theft charge. After reviewing discovery and plea paperwork, the court defers adjudication but imposes strict conditions: proof of full-time employment within 15 days, 120 hours community service, restitution and regular drug testing. At 9:02 a UA result is announced positive for methamphetamine, opiates and marijuana — the judge reacts sharply and orders a TAP evaluation. Based on TAP, the court will start Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) or inpatient treatment if appropriate, require weekly UAs, and monthly field visits. Dishonesty about drug use was highlighted as a major aggravator. Failure to comply with the ordered treatment and testing can lead to revocation of deferred adjudication and a prison sentence.
