Описание: Indonesia's Semeru volcano erupted on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and the country's volcanology agency increased the alert level of Java Island's tallest mountain to the highest.

A timelapse of eyewitness youtube channel AfarTV showed the volcano spewing ash clouds as high as two kilometers above the mountain's peak, as confirmed by the Indonesia’s volcanology agency, which added that residents should keep to a 2.5 kilometer distance away due to risks.

Semeru, more than 3,600 meters high, is one of Indonesia's nearly 130 active volcanoes.
