"They (the Pakistan government) are planning to develop diplomatic relations with Israel which is considered an illegal state in the world but they are not doing anything to fix the problem of their home (Pakistan). The current government is a failed government and their foreign policy is also the reflection of the failed government. Today we took to the street to support the noble cause of Palestine and to guard the Al-Aqsa Mosque as well."

STORYLINE:
Thousands of supporters of the Pakistani Islamist party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) demonstrated against the government Thursday.
The rally, which took place in the southern port city of Karachi, was held in response to what demonstrators said was the  Pakistani government looking to develop diplomatic relations with Israel, something that is intolerable to millions of people across the country.
Angry supporters waved flags and chanted anti-Israeli slogans during the demonstration.  
Dr. Rashid Mehmood Soomro, the central leader of JUI in Sindh Province, said the government should be prioritising issues in Pakistan.
"They are planning to develop diplomatic relations with Israel which is considered an illegal state in the world but they are not doing anything to fix the problem of their home," he said.  
In the recent past, several religious parties including JUI have organised rallies and protests against the recognition of Israel by some Muslim countries.
