Today marks 130 years since abolitionist and Maryland native Frederick Douglass passed away. On Black History Month, also the month of his birth, we joined Douglass descendants in Easton to celebrate the unveiling of a new roadside historical marker. The marker commemorates Douglass’ birth in Talbot County, self-liberation from slavery, and his work as an abolitionist, orator and human rights advocate.
