🍞 Full Brioche Recipe
Ingredients
For the dough:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
1 tsp salt
4 large eggs (room temperature)
1/3 cup whole milk (lukewarm)
10 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
For the egg wash:
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp milk
Instructions
Activate the yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Mix the dough
In a large bowl (or stand mixer), combine flour, sugar, and salt.
Add the eggs and yeast milk mixture, Butter, then knead until a rough dough forms.
Knead for 8–10 minutes until the dough is smooth, shiny, and elastic.
First rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
Shape the brioche
Shape into a loaf or as you like it
Chill the dough
Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour (overnight gives better flavor).
This makes shaping easier and improves texture.
Second rise
Let the shaped dough rise for 45–60 minutes until puffy.
Brush & bake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Brush with egg wash, bake 25–30 minutes, or until deep golden brown.
Cool & enjoy!
