Join me on my solo adventure – The Chola Temple Trail, a long-time dream finally completed on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 450!
I started from Pondicherry, riding 174 km (3 hours 30 mins) through light drizzles all the way till Kumbakonam, before reaching the majestic Thanjavur Periya Kovil, built by Raja Raja Cholan over 1000 years ago. Since it was a weekday, the temple was peaceful with very minimal crowd — a perfect moment to soak in history.
After spending quality time in this architectural marvel, I continued the trail towards Gangaikonda Cholapuram, built by Rajendra Cholan, located about 40 km from Thanjavur.
I’ve added cinematic temple shots, ride clips, and the soul of this entire journey in this video.
