Piper Scott Larson and drummer Eli Fugate of the PM Kevin Ray Blandford Memorial Pipe Band perform the spirited "Clann Mhuirich" composed by renowned piper, Ian MacDonald from the island of Benbecula, Scotland. The tune was commissioned by the Clan Currie Society to commemorate the dedication of a new memorial cairn at Stilligarry, South Uist.
Stilligarry was the site of the bard's home from the 16th - 18th century. MacMhuirich bards on South Uist were the herditary bards to the MacDonalds of Clanranald.
The 2012 edition of the Pipes of Christmas was performed on December 15 and 16 at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in Manhattan and Central Presbyterian Church in Summit, NJ.
Title sponsors for the 14th annual concerts were Edinburgh Napier University, Mercedes-Benz USA, and the Grand Summit Hotel. Additional support was provided by the Classic Malts of Scotland and the National Trust for Scotland Foundation - USA.
