Gov′t seeking legislative progress on stalled residential, auto tax revisions

Описание: The Korean government is hoping for progress on a tax revision plan that would raise residential and automobile taxes.
That′s according to the minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs, Chong Jong-sup,... in an interview with Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency on Sunday.
Chong said the tax reform plan is aimed at easing the burden on local governments facing financial difficulties.
The proposed tax law revision is currently pending in parliament after it was rejected by the opposition.
Chong added the government is also seeking to impose a leisure tax on the gambling industry.
